Why we run a men’s team
Most youth clubs in Copenhagen don't bother with a serious men's side. It costs money, it eats gym time that a hundred kids also want, and no parent asking about the club will ever ask about it.
We run one anyway. Two reasons.
First, the teenagers. A seventeen year old needs a session harder than his own age group can give him. Cheapest way to do that is a room full of grown men on a Wednesday night. Our Academy kids train up into the Men’s side all season. It's the single biggest reason any of them are ready when a bigger club calls.
Second, Marius. A twenty year old who's better than 3. division shouldn't have to leave Copenhagen basketball to find that out. He should get a real season, get seen, and move when he's ready. That's exactly what happened.
Adults count too
When a club is mostly kids it's easy to treat the adult team as the group that fills the late slot. We'd rather not. The Men's side has its own season, its own standards, and now its own story about someone leaving for a better league.
